Jazz @ DI : Day 1

The music scene in Calcutta peaks in winter and among the best programs on the calendar is the Congo Square and DI Jazz Fest and this year it’s on from the 25th till the 27th of November with promises of world class jazz.

This is my first experiments with concert photography.

Yesterday was Day 1.

Los Amigos – the Calcutta’s own Latino Jazz band – played to the crowds. Premjit Datta was just brilliant on the cognas and Pradyumna Singh Manot played very well too.

This was followed by a concert by the Warren Walker Trio with Warren Walker (USA) on the saxophone, Mario Carrillo (Spain) on the double bass and Tarun Balani (India) on the drums.

  1. Good blog post, nice efforts. It couldn’t appear to have been penned any better. Reading this article piece of writing reminds me about my old boss! He usually kept babbling about this. I will email this post to him. Pretty confident he will probably have a high-quality read. Appreciate your posting!
